South Africa in danger as New Zealand making a good move on Day 1

South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first but little did they know about the condition of the pitch at the time of August. The climate and the pitch favoured the bowling team and New Zealand gained the chance to dent their opponents as much as possible. Hashim Amla to pull off with 53, after hitting 10 boundaries, Temba Bavuma went on 46 after putting his leg before the stumps. Awaited skipper Faf du Plessis could  not do much as he had to leave on 23.

Surprises from the nature came for New Zealand as the visitors battled on their rival soil, plucking 8 wickets on the very first day. 3 wickets were taken by Neil Wagner. Trent Boult and Mitchell Santner managed to grab 2 wickets respectively where as Doug Bracewell was happy after sending back a single.
