England vs Pakistan, 1st ODI, England won by 44 run (D/L Method)

England won a very convincing match against Pakistan as rain came out with the force it was not showing any sense of mercy for the game to start with positive vibes. With the grand win England is now leading the 5 match series with 1-0, with 4 more matches to come. Let’s see how they will react in different conditions.

At times it seemed when the covers were coming off that there will be a full coverage with some overs to cut short, the rain disappointed us all and at the end the match was decided at the 35 over.

Coming on to batting first Pakistan imposed a decent total of 260 runs by losing 6 wickets, which at the end seemed very short for Pakistan, as the D/L method came into play it was quiet beneficial for the English team to grab the opportunity and seal the first match with a flaw full start.

In return England scored 194/3 at 34.3 overs and was thus declared the winners by the D/L method as rain came in with regular intervals, by the end of 35 overs the decision was made by the Umpires and later on by the D/L calculations England were termed as the winners.

Jason Roy the man of the match for his brilliant 65 runs in the presentation cermony:

Nice benchmark but looking to push on. Disappointed to get out on 60 odd but the next game is around. I’m feeling good, trusting my training – a lot of hard work behind that. I think the bowlers were outstanding. We bowled and fielded well and we were happy. Towards the end, it started to grip a touch more but a win’s a win. Both batsmen looked set to knock it off. Pakistan have a good attack, so I made use of the new ball on a good pitch.
