ENGLAND vs PAKISTAN, 3rd TEST, DAY 5: ENGLAND TRIUMPHS ON THEIR HOME-SOIL

England defeated Pakistan in the third Test match on Edgbaston, Birmingham 

 

England started the day completing from 414 runs to a total score of 445 runs and declared at the cost of 6 wickets. Keeper Jonny Bairstow  made 83 runs, hitting 8 boundaries while Moeen Ali stayed undefeated for 86 runs smashing 10 boundaries altogether.

Pakistan bowlers could not resist England as they were free to score runs. Mohammad Amir, Sohail Khan and Yasir Shah managed to pluck 2 wickets each.

Pakistan, on their second innings could merely cross the two-hundred mark making a score of 201 losing all their men. Sami Aslam stands for a highest in the team of 70 runs putting 11 boundaries under his name. Show-topper Azhar Ali was not at all influencial as in the first innings. He could gather just 38 runs off 75 balls , he hit 5 boundaries before returning to the pavilion. Sohail Khan was sent back for 36 runs.

Performance of bowlers of England stood impressive, Stuart Broad picked 2 wickets with 7 maiden overs out of 15. James Anderson, Chris Woakes, Steven Finn and Moeen Ali plucked 2 wickets each to gain the match.
