HOSSAIN DRAWS ATTENTION ON THE SIGNIFICANCE OF BOWLING COACH

After Heath Streak resigned from the post of bowling coach of Bangladesh, the position is vacant and no substitute is yet found for the team. Rubel Hossain asked Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to appoint a new bowling coach for the team before it is too late.

Star pacer of Bangladesh team, Rubel Hossain is highly conscious about the vacant position of bowling coach in the team. The team stands still without a bowling coach since Heath Streak resigned in May this year. Many candidates were approached by the board like Aaqib Javed and Venkatesh Prasad. To their dismay, the position is still vacant.

Hossain is out of the team since Bangladesh team A fought against India last year, because of his injury, the pacer had to miss the Asia Cup 2016 on his home-soil and the ICC World Twenty-20 2016 in India.

"We really need a bowling coach, we can learn new things from him. We are professional cricketers who have picked up things from different coaches and there's no end to learning. When I am trying something new in the nets, a coach has much impact with his tips. Pakistani bowlers are really skillful when it comes to swinging the ball, especially reverse swing. So there's a lot to learn from him. I am working hard to keep my strength – bowling fast and yorkers – in its place. I am trying to return to my old pace though it hasn't really gone down too much during the Dhaka Premier League. I have been working on a different type of delivery for a long time in training. I basically hold the ball between my fingers and deliver it. The ball is supposed to slow down after pitching. If I can deliver it properly, it will be quite successful. I really want to add a few variations to my bowling because I can only bowl fast." Said Hossain on Monday.
