Michael Clarke

Clarke made his international debut against England in 2003. Later he went on to become one of Australia’s most prolific batsman across all the formats of the game.

He proved one of the team’s assets with both the ball and bat. After former captain Ricky Ponting announced his retirement, he took the reigns from his hand.

Under Clarke’s captaincy, Australia whitewashed England in the 2013-14 Ashes series which was played Down Under. Moreover he helped Australia regain the No. 1 Test rank after a span of 4 years. He also led his country to win the 2015 ODI World Cup.

Clarke had played 360 international games and scored 16624 runs. He was only 34 years old when he announced his retirement. Moreover his retirement came when he was at the peak of his career.
