NUWAN KULASEKARA RELEASED ON BAIL

Nuwan Kulasekara, the Sri Lankan pacer was arrested on Monday (19 September) by local police as he was involved in an accident which led to death of a 28-year old motorcyclist

Sri Lankan pacer Nuwan Kulasekara was arrested on Monday as he was found to be the culprit of a road accident where a 28-year motorcyclist died. He is being released on bail, the player was travelling to Colombo from Kandy and in between the accident took place. Local police handled the case by arresting the player immediately.

“Preliminary inquiries have revealed that Mr Kulasekara was returning to Colombo from Kandy, when the unfortunate motorcycle rider who was travelling in the opposite direction had lost control of his bike whilst trying to overtake a bus and got flung into Mr Kulasekara’s path,” said Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) in a press release.

Kulasekara retired from Test cricket this year, he was last seen playing in 2016’s ICC World Twenty20. Since then he started focusing in the other formats of the game.
