3 Players Delhi Daredevils Must Target In the Upcoming 2019 IPL Auction

Delhi Daredevils are one of those franchises who have never won the Indian Premier League (IPL) title. They have been very inconsistent even since the inaugural edition of 2008.

In the 2018 season, they finished at the bottom of the pile with just 5 wins from 14 games. In the previous season, the team was initially led by veteran Gautam Gambhir. After he dropped himself, the baton was passed to a young prodigy Shreyas Iyer.

Prior to the new season, they have dropped 13 players and now have a purse of INR 25.50 crore. They need to work smartly with the combination and need to perform smart buys who can hand them their first title.

Here is a look at 3 potential players who has the ability to change DD’s fortunes:

Sam Curran

The 20-year-old English all-rounder has grown in leaps and bounds over the last few months. Since making his debut against Pakistan at Headingly in Leeds, Sam has been performing brilliantly.

He mainly came into the limelight during the Edgbaston Test in Birmingham against India, where almost single-handedly took the game away from the visitors.

Sam scored 63 from 65 balls, showing his maturity against the Indian bowlers at the highest level of the game. Moreover he also took wickets with the leather and eventually went on to win the Player of the Match award.

Having played 47 T20s, Sam has 478 runs and 42 wickets to his name. Daredevils can profit hugely from the teenager as they have only Chris Morris as a quality all-rounder in their ranks.
