4 Players CSK Should Buy In 2019 IPL

After serving a two-year long ban following an off the field scandal, Chennai Super Kings made an outstanding comeback in the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League and won their third trophy in the history of the tournament.

Cricket news: CSK might alter their winning combination and bring in some big names next year

Right from the auction table, the “whistle podu army” has taken some bold decisions, by leaving out Ravichandran Ashwin and bringing in some unexpected players as well as opting for many elderly players.

But their choices fit in perfectly as they went all the way to the finals and won it by defeating the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

But in the next year they might have to take some harsh decisions, as they need to replace some veterans with some equally talented squad to keep the winning combination.

Here is the list of 4 such players who might come into the radar of the defending champions in the next year’s auctions.

4. Evin Lewis

Matches: 13

Runs: 382

Strike Rate: 138.4

When Chennai opted for Shane Watson in the 2018 auctions, many had criticised their decision because of Watson’s age and out of form status.

However he proved to be the most prominent batsman for the team, scoring two centuries in the tournament among which one came in the final. However at the age of 36, he is too injury-prone and was seen limping sporadically at the crease.

So if CSK decides to replace the great Australian they can opt for Mumbai Indians’ Evin Lewis, who along with Suryakumar Yadav was Mumbai’s only hope.

Lewis scored 382 runs in 13 matches and has the edge over Watson both in terms of age and superb athleticism on the field.
