But this is not true. Mumbai Indians still has got some hope of qualifying in the playoffs of the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League.

They currently has 10 points after their respective 12 matches and are currently at the sixth position of the points table, with five teams above them with more points.

But if they manage to win the next two games against Punjab and Delhi, they will end with 14 points. In that case net run rate will play a big factor, and Mumbai already has the best NRR among all the other eight teams.

This is because of the narrow margin loss they had suffered in the earlier stages of the tournament, combined with the huge margin win over Kolkata Knight Riders.

Apart from this, Mumbai has to hope that some of the matches’ results go in their favour. Especially the match between Rajasthan and Bangalore, where Bangalore has to win, and the match between Hyderabad and Kolkata, where Hyderabad has to win.

Currently Hyderabad and Chennai have booked their place in the playoffs, while Delhi has already been out of the race.

Except that all the other teams Kings XI Punjab, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, along with Mumbai Indians are competing for the remaining last two positions.
