Virat Kohli Is Back In the Training Grounds

The current skipper of the Indian cricket team Virat Kohli has shown signs of regaining full fitness after he had received a neck injury during an IPL match.

Cricket news: Kohli resumes full training in order to pass the fitness test on 15 June

The 29-year-old player was recently spotted practising on Wednesday at BKC complex and on Thursday at the Western Railways Ground.

Reports suggested that Kohli was assisted by Sanjay Bangar, who is the assistant coach of team India. Kohli and Bangar stayed for an hour on the field as Kohli started his full-fledged training routine.

Kohli is reportedly trying to regain his full strength before June 15 as he wishes to clear the fitness test slated on that very same day at National Cricket Academy (NCA), Bengaluru.

The Indian skipper received the neck injury while trying to dive in to take a catch in the 51st game of IPL where he played for the franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The injury did not look serious then, but after the IPL season got over, the extent of the injury was known. As a result Kohli missed the county stint with Surrey and his participation in the Ireland-England tour was also left in doubts.

Kohli is named as the captain of the team for the limited overs tour of Ireland and England, and Rohit Sharma is named as the vice-captain. In case Kohli fails to clear the fitness test on June 15, Rohit will then lead the team.

The Men in Blue will have a tight schedule ahead starting with two T20Is against Ireland on June 27 and 29. After that a full-fledged England series will begin starting with three T20Is and three ODIs.

After a gap of two weeks, a five-match Test series will progress which will be the most difficult task for the Indian team.
