WEST INDIES VS. INDIA, 2ND TEST: ASHWIN LEADS THE VOGUE BY PICKING A FIVE WICKET HAUL

India took control over the Caribbean’s with a clinical all-round performance on the first day of the second test match, with the spinner Ravichandran Ashwin takes a fifer while KL Rahul stood with his unbeaten half-century in the crease.

The host after winning the toss elected to bat at Sabina Park, were batting isn’t easy. Soon the West Indies top order collapsed with the Indian pace attack doing the damage upfront. Both Mohammed Shami and Ishant Sharma picked up 2 wickets each. Then Ashwin joined the party picked up 5-wickets and restricted the Windies to196.  

Ashwin took 5 wickets in 16 overs providing 52 runs for his rivals and grabbing his 18th five-wicket haul in test format where as West Indies were all-out for 196 in just 52.2 overs

KL Rahul was in the place of injured Murali Vijay who used the opportunity to the fullest and scored his yet another half century. He scored 75 runs in 144 balls and made India stand firm in a stronger position in day one. Both openers added 87 runs, with the dismissal of Shikhar Dhawan out came Cheteshwar Pujara (batting on 18*).

The Indian side further extends their dominance by reaching 126/1 and trail by just 70 runs in the 2nd Test against West Indies
