3 Players Royal Challengers Bangalore Might Release Before IPL 2019

All the franchises of the Indian Premier League (IPL) have started to preparations to sort out players to release and retain before the last date of 15 November closes in.

Cricket news: These players did not perform well in IPL 2018 and hence might be replaced for better options

With the franchises trying to figure out their squads, the first transfer of the off-season has already been made in the South African wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock, who was transferred from Royal Challengers Bangalore to Mumbai Indians in exchange for cash.

The RCB has been one of the franchises which have failed to win the coveted trophy even once despite having a star-studded lineup. Moreover they have failed to reach the playoffs during the previous couple of seasons.

Thus the franchise will definitely try to make a good number of changes to the squad so that they turn the tables around. Here is the list of three such players which the franchise might release before the beginning of the next season.

1. Brendon McCullum

The former New Zealand skipper and power-hitting opener was bought by RCB to strengthen their already power-packed batting lineup.

However McCullum proved to be an utter disappointment in IPL 2018 as he scored just 127 from 6 matches with an average of 21 and a highest score of 43.

Although there is no doubt in McCullum’s power-hitting ability, yet his inconsistency might force the franchise to look for other choices in the auction.
