According to latest India Criket news, the left handed Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan credited the Indian bowlers for restricting the kiwis for a total of 231 and hence winning the Do or Die match for Indian Cricket team.

Shikhar Dhawan played a handy knock in the run chase as he scored 68 runs in 84 balls and was well supported by Dinesh Karthik, who scored a well-made half-century. Both players build up their innings to take Indian team across the finishing line.

New Zealand captain, Kane Williamson elected to bat first after winning the toss, but kiwi’s top order heavily collapsed for just 58 runs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled magnificently in a track which doesn’t offer much help to the bowlers. He picked up 3/45 and also claimed the Man of the Match, as he deserved every bit of it.

India’s two superstar batsman Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma went to the pavilion in quick time, but Dhawan holds his wicket and took India to victory but somehow the left-hander was bit surprised with the choice of batting first by the kiwi skipper after winning the toss.

“230 is not too much in these times. The bowlers bowled really well and the fielders backed them up well. The bowlers had done half the job actually for us. There was no seam movement when India bowled, that’s what I think. I guess we played their pacers better than they (played our pacers). I was a bit surprised with their decision to bat first because there could be dew in the evening usually during this time,”

The left-hander spoked about the slowness of the wicket in the second innings, which made bit difficult for the batsman to play their strokes and score freely. But it wasn’t a bad track to bat on even in the first innings. When we were batting we thought it slowed down a bit, the ball wasn’t coming that nicely, the way it should,” Dhawan concluded in India Cricket News.
