India climbs to the top position in ICC Test format

Indian team made their way to rank 1 of International Cricket Council (ICC) in Test format after Sri Lanka defeated Australia on the home-soil for 3-0.

Australia is defeated by Sri Lanka on Wednesday, August 17 by a lead of 3-0 which led the team to fall down in terms of Test rankings. The Kangaroos lost a total of 10 points which grounded them to the third position, only four points behind India.

To be in the top most position, India must win the final match of the four-Test series against West Indies scheduled to held on August 18. India already leading the series for 2-0 where the third match stood to be draw. It is also to be seen that if West Indies wins the last game , India will directly slip down to fourth position in the list with 108 points.

 Pakistan currently in the second position after winning the final test against England which leveled the series of 2-2 and collected a total points of 111.

England in fourth position after Sri Lanka whitewashed Australia and gained 10 points, crossed South Africa and sat on the sixth place.
