Five Afghanistan Players Who Can Secure an IPL Contract This Year

2. Mohammad Shahzad (Paktia Panthers)

This 30-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman is often regarded as Afghanistan’s MS Dhoni. He is currently leading his APL franchise in this year’s edition.

Having debuted in 2009, he is one of the experienced cricketers in the Afghan side and has seen the development of his country in cricketing matters.

Although he went unsold in IPL 2018, his recent performances where he scored 162 runs in three innings with an average of 54, should attract many bidders.

Moreover his century against India in the Asia Cup should serve as an added statement. Sunrisers Hyderabad might look into him as they lack a reliable wicketkeeper who can also bat.
