Flop XI of the Afghanistan Premier League 2018 Tournament

Although the inaugural season of the Afghanistan Premier League (APL) failed to attract huge number of crowds to the stadium, yet it provided some good quality cricket for the fans.

Cricket news: Many cricketers grabbed the limelight before the start but failed during the tournament

It gave a lot of limelight to most of the upcoming talent of Afghanistan who are trying to put their head through into the international arena.

But on the other hand it did not prove special for some cricketers who were expected to perform well in the tournament. Some international superstars and some local talented players were pretty ordinary throughout the tournament.

Here is the list of eleven such players who failed to live to the hype and did not help much to their team’s cause.

1. Brendon McCullum – Kandahar Knights

No one had expected the name of former skipper of New Zealand in this list. The Kiwi dynamite was way far from what he is capable of doing.

Skipper Asghar Afghan played him in all the matches and that too in the top three, which proves that he had got enough opportunities to do something big.

However his cricket has deteriorated over the course of time as he managed to score just 158 runs from eight games which included just one half-century.
