BCCI Announces Squad for Second Test Against The Windies

The Men in Blue will be facing the Windies for the final Test match in the two-match Test series which will start from Friday.

Cricket news: India will be looking for a win to whitewash the Windies by 2-0

The hosts are currently leading the series and are the favourites to win the second game as well in the next few days and whitewash the Windies.

During the first Test the hosts had decided to set the benchmark by naming the squad beforehand, which the board followed in the second game as well. On the eve, 24 hours before the beginning of the match, BCCI had announced the 12-man squad.

It seems that the hosts will be going in with an unchanged 12-member team as per the release of the names of the squad.

This means that Mayank Agarwal will once again continue to warm the bench while the management have decided to give KL Rahul one more opportunity to make amends for his failure in the first Test.

It is highly unlikely that Shardul Thakur, who is named the 12th member of the squad, will get his debut Test cap in the game.

All the eyes will be on the young sensational player Prithvi Shaw who made a wonderful debut at Rajkot by scoring 134 runs, which highlighted his talent.

The team would want Prithvi to carry on in the same vein before the upcoming Australia tour in December as he can be a vital asset for the team.

Mayank Agarwal will again have to wait for his chance as the team is now keeping their confidence on KL Rahul and Ajinkya Rahane, who have struggled for quite some time apart from an odd score in an inning. If they manage to get their confidence back, then it will be huge boost for the team in the upcoming Australia tour.

India 12-member squad: Virat Kohli (c), KL Rahul, Prithvi Shaw, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravi Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav
