The Northeast based Indian Super League club, Northeast United FC kept their Hero Indian Super League 2016 playoff hope alive on Saturday evening after a late equalizer goal from Shouvik Ghosh against the defending champions Chennaiyin FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai.

In front of over 25,000 spectators, the away side Northeast United FC forced the defending champions Chennai FC to share the points equally. 


As the Chennaiyin FC’s striker Dudu scored the hat-trick for the home side, but two goals from the Argentine ace Nicolas Velez and Shouvik Ghosh last minute goal the Highlanders to equalize the must win game for the both sides.

*3-3 tonight, how do you rate this performance?

I think it was a good game. It was a high quality game. We knew we couldn’t lose. We have been working hard and we earned one very important point.

*After scoring two goals tonight, how would you rate your own performance?

I am happy with the two goals. But I am happier because I helped the team earn the point. Now I look forward to the next game.

*Do you think you still have a chance to make the semis?

Yes, we can still make it. We know that it depends on us. We have to win our next game and we are still in the race. We can go to the semis.
