In an interview Carlo Ancelotti said,
“We are well covered in those positions, Even with Robben picking up a little injury, he'll be ready for the start of the season, so all positions are really well covered. We don't need another player, we are enough and we are competitive."
He also added that, “ I am very much involved in the decision-making process ”
"I spoke to the club, I think to improve the team, it was important to have good central defenders and to try to get a midfielder to improve the competitiveness of the squad in midfield.
"Together, we found the right players and the right solutions. Mats Hummels, with his great experience, and Renato Sanches, with his enthusiasm, will certainly help the team to be better."
