Argentine Primera División club and Messi’s boyhood club Newell's Old Boys have stated that they can make history by taking the Argentine record goal scorer Lionel Messi to the Coloso (the club stadium),

And believes that they are going to get the pleasure of Messi wearing the club shirt soon.

As the Newell's Old Boys vice president Cristian D'amico admitted in an interview that, “I am convinced, like many of my peers, that we can make history as a club if we get the best player in the world in a Newell's shirt,"

‘I think we're going to get the pleasure of Messi wearing the shirt."

The Newell's vice president feels that the 29-years-old Barcelona and Argentine international forward’s arrival at the homeland club will make a huge change in the country’s economy as well as will help the club to grow more economically strong,

Cristian D'amico said, “Imagine a game with Messi in the Coloso [the club's stadium] with the press around the world," he said.

"The sponsors who would come, that would make a difference economically, apart from the sentimental value, and could make a big difference to clean up the debts."

And the reports say, there is a chance of Messi’s La Liga exit because of his recent high-profile tax fraud case,

As the La Liga president Javier Tebas said, “Of course I fear Messi could leave, but the only thing I can tell him is that from La Liga we believe he isn't guilty and we are happy to have him here."
