Former Pakistani Spinner Praises Indian Chinaman Kuldeep Yadav

India’s chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav has become a brute force in white-ball format, but has not yet found his feet in Test cricket.

Cricket news: Kuldeep grabbed his maiden five-wicket haul in the first Test against Windies

Kuldeep debuted against Australia in Dharamshala in 2017 where he got four wickets in the first innings but could not manage a single wicket in the second innings.

In the next year, the 23-year-old toured Sri Lanka and again got a four-fer, but still could not put his position firmly. The cricketer from Uttar Pradesh next got his chance against England at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground.

However he failed to impress as he could not get a single wicket from his nine overs and was hence left out from the final two Tests.

He returned home and started honing his skills with India ‘A’ side and was later called for the Windies series for two-match Tests.

In the first innings of the first Test at Rajkot, he conceded runs at an economy of over a run-a-ball. But his potential came to the limelight in the second innings where he got his maiden five-wicket haul.

The Windies batsmen had not answer to the deliveries thrown to them by Kuldeep. He helped India register their biggest win in Test cricket by an innings and 272 runs.

Former Pakistan spinner Saqlain Mushtaq took to his official Twitter handle and congratulated Kuldeep and said that he is indeed a special talent.

He wrote, “Many congratulations to Kuldeep Yadav. I have been watching him closely, his outstanding performance not only in England but now taking 5 wickets with his amazing spin attack against West Indies. There is a special talent in him & a bright future of Indian cricket.”
