Football News: The Madrid man avouches that the Portuguese superstar congratulated him for his individual award and said he deserves that.

Modric is happy after getting accolades by his old team mate.

The 32 year old Croatian international Modric won the Gong ahead of his former team mate,who skipped the ceremony and the Reds attacker Salah late last month.

But the Madrid man said he receives accolades from the Portuguese superstar and also says that Ronaldo told him that he deserve this award.

After the post match friendly against Croatia VS Portugal Modric voiced: "I am happy to be in another big award final [Best FIFA Men's Player], we'll see what will happen,"

"I have a good relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo and we'll have a good relationship in the future too. Individual awards are important but I'm not obsessed with them.

"Cristiano sent me a message, congratulated me and told me he is happy for me and I deserved it. He also said he can't wait to meet me again."

 

 The Portuguese star man and Modric helped Madrid last season to win their third successive Champions trophy and also Modric help his team to reach to the world cup finale.
