ROBERTO MARTINEZ: BELGIUM SQUAD IS WORLD CLASS

The former Everton has been appointed as the new coach of the Belgium nation team. Roberto Martinez is “honoured” to be the national coach and demanded from players to change their mentality if they want to win big thing.

Martinez was appointed after Belgium got crashed in the quarter-finals against Wales. Belgium were the hot favourites for the EURO 2016. But failed to match up the nation’s expectations.

The Spanish coach believes that the talent in the squad is of world class, but the player must be mentally strong to cope up with the difficult situations and with the high expectations. After he was appointed as the successor of Marc Wilmots on Wednesday.

Matinez said "I'm proud and honoured to be the national coach of Belgium. The Belgium squad is as good as it gets,"

"I've always been intrigued by Belgian football. There are so many talented young players. There's much respect for Belgium from the opposition.

"But the preparation is very important. We have to help our team to play with ambition.

"Belgium's mentality has to change. You have to be able to deal with it that you are the favourite. I want my team to enjoy possession and attack. It's vital to have a winning mentality.

"I'm going to meet every player, to get to know them better."
