The former Real Madrid player Roberto Carlos believes that his compatriot can become a superstar in the Manchester City under the Spaniard Pep Guardiola.


The world cup winner backed his countryman to become a superstar at Manchester City.

This season the Manchester City side brought him from the Brazilian side Palmeiras, and he made his debut for them in their match against Tottenham, he made a cameo in that match.

This youngster has made his International debut under the new Brazilian coach Tite and scored four goals so far in his six appearances for them.

The former Brazilian international Roberto Carlos thinks that it is just a matter of time for Gabriel Jesus to showcase his talent for Manchester City; he thinks when he gets settled well in England than he can show others what is capable of.

In an interview he told: "Gabriel will be very important for Manchester City but he needs time to adapt,"

"I would ask that people don't put too much pressure on him too soon."

In his debut the Brazilian score a late goal for his side, but his goal was ruled out by the officials, though his skills on the pitch impressed the former Brazilian international.

He added: "He showed what he can do in the last 15 minutes of the game against Tottenham,"

"He showed his fantastic speed and he scored the goal that was ruled out for offside.

"It made people notice him, but it can be difficult for a young boy coming to a new country. He has to adapt.
