Paris Saint Germain: Champions league is beyond PSG level- Marquinhos

Football News- Paris Saint Germain

This season as well the Ligue 1 giants crashed out from the Champions League round of 16, despite spending big on the transfer market.

Paris Saint Germain defender Marquinhos avouches that winning the Champions League is beyond the reach of PSG after they bite the dust against Real Madrid in the round of 16.

Last night at the Parc De Princes Pgs lost the second leg by 2-1 goals against Madrid and lost the tie by 5-2 goals against the Spanish giants Madrid.

Last season PSG lost a dramatic match against Barcelona in the round of 16, and after that, they invested more over €400million on Neymar and Mbappe but last night PSG failed to overturn their situation against Madrid, With Neymar not on the team due to injury.

Earlier the PSG defender says that Champions league was the main target for them in this season, but after facing the defeat against Madrid, he feels his team is lacking something to win this trophy.

In an interview, Marquinhos voiced: "It's very frustrating. It's hard to be knocked out of this competition as it was our main objective,"

"It shows we still have to work, to be more mature and have more experience.

"You could see Madrid were good on certain details while we didn't manage to be good on those small details.

"I think we can't win this competition right now. Everyone tells us we have to lose a lot in order to learn and to win this competition.
