INDIA VS NEW ZEALAND, 2ND TEST, VENUE: EDEN GARDENS, KOLKATA, INDIA WON THE TOSS AND ELECTED TO BAT FIRST.

The news from the Edens is that Indian Skipper Virat Kohli have won the toss and elected to bat first to put some amount of pressure on the Visitors New Zealand

After winning the first test Indian team will definitely be looking forward to grab the 2nd test and seal the series and on the other hand the Kiwis will also be eyeing to win this test and level the series.

This is what the captains said:

Ross Taylor: ‘Disappointing not to have our premier skipper, not just as captain, but he’s the number two batsman in the world. He has had fever for the last couple of days, that’s unfortunate and he’s still sick this morning, but happens in such humidity. It’s a big loss, but we will look to play well for him. There should be some assistance for the seamers early on, should help us in the first session. Some of the batsmen have had valuable match practice and we will look to put them under pressure. Jeetan (Patel) is back, replaces Ish Sodhi, Henry Nicholls is in for Kane and we are playing an extra seamer in Matt Henry.’

Virat Kohli: ‘We will bat first, looks like a pretty hard surface with a good grass coverage, should help the seamers in the first session, should turn out to be a good batting surface later. The preparations have been great, the wickets were under covers for a bit. We have to play with intensity, it was hot in Kanpur and it will be hot in Kolkata as well. Good start in Kanpur, but it’s all about executing well, so looking forward to the match. Composition remains the same, just a couple of changes, Shikhar Dhawan replaces KL Rahul and Bhuvneshwar replaces Umesh Yadav, we feel he will be useful with the new ball in these conditions.’
