Official : Jurgen Klopp is delighted to sign Newcastle man for a fee of £25million

Liverpool has confirmed the signing of the 25-year-old Newcastle midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum for a reported fee of £25million. The Netherland international has penned a five-year contract with the Reds.

The talented midfield man scored 11 goals in 38 games in the last season with Newcastle United in his first season.

Klopp admits the midfielder has immense potential and that is one of the reasons Jurgen Klopp brought him to Anfield. The Netherland International will wear No.5 shirt next season.

“I’m really excited because Liverpool is a big club with a great history and it’s always a dream to play for as big a club as Liverpool," Wijnaldum told the club's official website.

“[Jurgen Klopp seems] a great man - from the outside - because I don’t know how he works yet and I have to work with him.
“[But] I always love to watch him, his passion as a trainer, I like how he enjoys the game. He gives something back to the group [with his passion] so I look forward to working with him.”
