The 40 year old former Real Madrid striker thinks that the La Liga silverware is a paramount thing for the Real Madrid side.


Fernando Morientes the former Real Madrid striker believes that it is time for the Los Blancos side to end their La Liga trophy sunshine.

In 2012 under the special one the Real Madrid side won the La Liga title last time after that they have won two champions league trophy but not a single La Liga title.

The arch rival of Real Madrid, Barcelona side dominated in domestic trophies as they won three trophies in the last four seasons, and the 40 year old former Real Madrid striker who has won three Champions league trophies with the Spanish giants he thinks that La Liga trophy is paramount for Real Madrid.

In an interview he added: "I think Real Madrid's number one objective before the season started was to win La Liga and it still is,"

"If they can win the Champions League on the way then that's even better, as it's the competition everyone wants, but five years without winning the league is not good for Real Madrid, for both the fans and the club.

"That is why it is the main goal."

This season, under the French coach Zidane the Real Madrid side is playing formidable football as a team and they are standing at the top of the La Liga table,
