The Spanish giant FC Barcelona’s president Josep Maria Bartomeu has to believe that the Argentine ace and FC Barcelona’s hotshot Lionel Messi will definitely sign a contract extension and see out his European career at the Camp Nou.

The five times Ballon d’Or Lionel Messi has reportedly told the club he joined as a 13-year-old that he would not discuss his future until the end of his current deal, which expires in summer 2018.

And the 29-year-old star forward, who has already scored more than 500 goals for the Spanish giant since he joined the FC Barcelona’s senior team in 2004 has been linked with clubs including Premier League giant and France champions Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain respectively, and the reports suggest he has a €250 million release clause in his contract.

But the President of FC Barcelona, Josep Maria Bartomeu is confident that the Argentine ace Lionel Messi will sign a new contract with the Spanish Champions FC Barcelona, also admitted that one day definitely Messi will leave for Argentina or another continent and he's free to do that,

As Josep Maria Bartomeu said in an interview with RMC,

"I'm sure he'll sign with us again because we're talking about the best player in the world, even in the history of football.”

"We love having a player like him, who knows how to turn matches and leagues.”

"We have to find dates to talk. Messi is still very motivated and very focused, but we're going to find a moment to talk with him or his agents."

He said Messi "would like to finish his career with us"

but added "perhaps one day leave for Argentina or another continent -- he's free to do that."
