The 29 year old France international who believes that the PSG team is very lucky to have the Italian international in their squad also reveals that after their Champions league match he had a chat with a Barcelona midfielder about him.


Blaise Matuidi thinks that the Barcelona superstar Andres Iniesta sees the 24 year Italian midfielder Marco Verratti as an ideal replacement for him at Barcelona.

In their clash against Barcelona in the Champions league last 16 the Italian international showcase some impeccable football for the PSG side at the Parc des Princes where they beat the La Liga giants Barcelona by 4-0 goals and the Spaniard Iniesta was impressed with his game during that match.

The French international Matuidi spoken to France Bleu after that game, and he said: "When Verratti was down on the ground with an injury, I  told Iniesta that Marco was his successor and he replied that he thought the same,"

"Iniesta is an extraordinary player. He is getting a bit older now, but the things he does are amazing.

"He is just coming back from an injury and he will return to top form for the return.

"We are fortunate to have his successor with us. That is the message I gave Iniesta when we spoke."

The 24 year old Italian joined the French capital side in 2012 from Pescara and now he developed himself as an integral part for them in these years.
Ha has been tied up with them since 2021.
