The France man Arsene Wenger, who is currently managing the Premier League giant Arsenal since 1996 has recently revealed that he could have signed Luis Suarez from Liverpool in the summer of 2013.
The Uruguayan internationa Luis Suarez is currently playing for the Spanish giant FC Barcelona and has already became an important member for the club with scoring more than 80 goals since 2014.
But in an interview with beIN Sports, the Arsenal boss Wenger insists that Suarez wanted to move to Arsenal and a deal had been done and challenged anyone to ask Suarez who joined Barcelona a year later.
As in his statement Wenger said, "He was very close. We had an agreement with the player. We had been wrongly advised that he had a clause, with a minimal clause, but we had an agreement with the player. You can ask him,”
“I'm convinced he wanted to join us and then they sold him. They kept him one more year, improved his contract and promised to sell him the year later to a club abroad."
