“WE CAN’T TAKE A TEAM LIKE SOUTH AFRICA LIGHTLY”- ISH SODHI

A New Zealand tour of South Africa is starting from 19th August (Friday), both teams are set to play two-test series in South Africa. The first Test match will be held at Kings Mead, Durban.

New Zealand’s leggy Ish Sodhi determined that his team won’t be taking South Africa lightly despite of absence of South Africa’s two key players AB de Villiers and Morne Morkel because of injury.

South Africa already suffered a huge setback as two big names are missing from their squad. Superstar AB de Villiers suffered an elbow injury during the Caribbean Premier League, while Morne Morkel was already ruled out of the series because of his back injury.

The leg spinner said, “ [AB] is obviously an amazing player – one of the best, if not the best in the world in all formats – but you can never take a team like South Africa lightly, They have got runs from the top order to even the lower order and they’ve got bowlers who can back them up in any conditions. Again, it’s just how much we prepare in these three days of training and if we can put in the work, hopefully we can put up a good performance, being able to adapt to different conditions has been a strength for us the last few years” Sodhi added
