Barca- Dembele is not ready to start- Valverde

Football News- Barca

Last night the Frenchman impressed everyone in his 20 minutes cameo but the Barcelona boss wants to be patient.

Ernesto Valverde played down Dembele’s return after his prolonged injury, as he believes that the newly joined Barca man is not ready to start for them.

Last night Dembele made the start for Barcelona against Celta Vigo after his 110 days of injury.

He entered the pitch in the 70th minute and in that little cameo he impressed all the Barca fans, but the match ended as a draw.

Last night Valverde used Dembele in a central attacking role as last night he rested Messi and Suarez but the Coach believes that €105 million signing have to wait to sneak into the first team.

Valverde said: "It was so that Dembele played in a position where he was released of defensive obligations, which were a bit stressful at that time of the match,"

"When we know that this was the first game of this player after almost four months without playing, I preferred that he be in a position where he can gradually get used to the game.

"We must take into account that the pace of a whole match against a first division team. For Ousmane, it would have been excessive."
