The Kolkata based Indian Super League club Atletico de Kolkata picked their second Indian Super League title at the expense of Kerala Blasters, as they edged them 4-3 on penalties at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Sunday evening.

And the Portugal international and former FC Porto’s defender Henrique Sereno has put in a commanding performance at the back for the Indian Super League 2016 champions Atletico de Kolkata in the ISL final against the Kerala Blasters on 18th Dec, Sunday.


The former FC Porto’s defender Henrique Sereno was the on Sunday night as he denied the Kerala Blasters strikers a chance to run inside the box and the Portuguese centre-back scored the equaliser just before the end of the first half as he headed home from a corner.


And the 31-year-old Portugal defender believes that Atletico de Kolkata deserves the ISL 2016 title and he is happy to win it.

As after winning the final Henrique Sereno has said,

“I feel happy about that (goal) but we deserve this win. We are a good bunch of players and we won the ISL because of a lot of factors. I’m very happy with this result,”

And on his injury Henrique added,

“Injuries are actually normal for football players. I nearly finished the entire game but I had to come off because of a problem. I will see how bad it is and see what I need to do,” he concluded.
