5 Players Unlucky to be Left Out of T20 Squad Against England

Cricket News:The 11th edition of the Indian Premier League has reached its halfway mark. After the domestic tournament, the busy international schedule of the Indian cricket team will begin.

The BCCI selectors have already announced the T20 squad for the upcoming T20 matches against England and Ireland. Although the majority of the team has been announced according to the predictions made by many, yet there are some players who were not selected despite their current good form.

5. Krunal Pandya

The talented all-rounder has once again been unlucky as he has been left out of the national squad despite performing on a constant basis for two years for the IPL franchise Mumbai Indians.

The elder Pandya brother has been a vital member for the Mumbai Indians side and has contributed with both bat and ball, and has kept the team’s hopes afloat despite Mumbai’s poor form this season.

Krunal has scored 181 runs in 10 games and has picked up 9 wickets along with being a acrobatic fielder and a livewire on the field.

4. Shreyas Iyer

The 23-year-old has been in excellent touch with the bat for the IPL franchise Delhi Daredevils and was elected their captain when Gautam Gambhir stepped down from the mantle because of the team’s poor performances.

Although he is set to replace current Indian captain Virat Kohli for the Test match against Afghanistan, he does not find his name in the T20 squad.

Iyer has played 10 matches in this season and has scored 351 runs with an average of 50.14 and has the highest score of unbeaten 93 which he made against Kolkata Knight Riders.

3. Risabh Pant

Although Delhi Daredevils is experiencing yet another poor IPL season, their wicketkeeper-batsman, Risabh Pant, is having one of his best IPL seasons so far.

In the 10 games he has played so far, he has scored 393 runs with an average of 39.30 and a strike rate of 173.12. Till now he has played only four international matches as the selectors have always preferred MS Dhoni and Dinesh Karthik ahead of him.

2. Suryakumar Yadav

The right-handed batsman has come back to his hometown Mumbai in the 2018 IPL auctions and has been the rock for his side in the top order.

Although he has been very effective during the powerplays as he has willingly pierced the gaps and made many runs, yet his efforts were not rewarded during the national team selection.

He has played 10 matches for Mumbai Indians until now and has scored 399 runs with an average of 39.90 with a strike rate of 132.11.

1. Ambati Rayudu

The 32-year-old right-handed batsman had been a part of Mumbai Indians from 2010 to 2017, but was bought by Chennai Super Kings in the 2018 auctions.

The player has been phenomenal with the bat for the Men in Yellow, both as an opener as well as in the middle order, as his ability as a floater was appreciated by many.

Rayudu has been the key player for CSK’s success this year as was selected as part of the upcoming ODI series, but will not venture in the T20I side.
