India Cricket News: Sourav Ganguly Backed the Indian Star to Play at No.4 as Long he is Delivering

According to India Cricket News, Sourav Ganguly the former Indian skipper was highly impressed with the performance of team India in the 2nd ODI, as the men in blue bounce back after the previous ODI defeat at Mumbai and levels the series 1-1 against New Zealand.

Virat Kohli’s and co displayed a clinical performance at Pune and levels the on-ging series. After Yuvraj singh has been dropped from the side, team India has always struggle to get a new number four position batsman and has been experimenting from quit a few players in the that batting position.

However, the former Indian Skipper believes India team has now found a right player in form of Dinesh Karthik for that vital no.4 position after his batting display in the 2nd ODI, as per the India Cricket News.

 “He played well to be honest, although there was not much pressure when you’re chasing that kind of a total. He will be tested but he should play as long as he is performing. But he should be allowed to play at No. 4 as long as he is scoring the runs,” said by Sourav Ganguly

Ganguly backed the Indian side to win the final ODI at Kanpur and seal the series. “Don’t predict in cricket. But India are favorites to win the series. It’s is very hard to beat India in India and I think Virat Kohli’s side will keep the record intact,” he said as per the India cricket news.

Though Sourav Ganguly believed that the chase was the greatest or exceptional and it would be hard to prejudge, but as also backed Karthik to play in the number four position as long he is performing. 

However, veteran cricketer Harbhajan Singh also argues to back Karthik in the No.4 position, as Bhaji is highly impressed with technique and ability that Karthik has got.

“Happy to see Dinesh Karthik batting at No. 4. He is one of those guys who has the correct technique to bat at No. 4. Good to see him getting those runs and I’m sure these will boost his confidence and also Virat Kohli. I’m sure you will see better performances in the future,” Harbhajan Singh quoted in India Cricket News.
