Former Pakistan Skipper Afridi Bats In Favour Of Former Indian Skipper MS Dhoni

With each passing day there has been a lot of news and discussions cropping up regarding Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s latest performances. Dhoni had a dream run with the bat in IPL 2018.

He helped Chennai Super Kings to bounce back in the tournament with third trophy. But since then he has failed to replicate that form in international cricket.

Further complications arose when Dhoni was left out of the T20I squad which faced the Windies and are currently playing against Australia. Moreover there were some who even questioned about his retirement.

But former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi has shut down all the critics with his latest statement. The Pakistan all-rounder was quite vocal about Dhoni’s involvement and presence. He believes that the wicketkeeper-batsman is very crucial for India’s plans in the upcoming World Cup 2019.

Moreover Afridi stated that Dhoni doesn’t require anyone’s opinion and would only retire from the game when he wants.

Afridi went on saying that no one else can replicate the achievements that Dhoni has acquired while serving Indian cricket. The 37-year-old has played against many Pakistan players and are friends with many, who knows what Dhoni is capable of doing.

Afridi confidently said that India’s chances will be bolstered in the World Cup if Dhoni is part of the squad. “What Dhoni has done for team India nobody else can and nobody has the right to tell him when to retire. 2019 Dhoni needs to be there for India to have good chances” he said while speaking to Times Now.

The Jharkhand gloveman has scored over 10,000 runs in ODI cricket and is one of the most experienced cricketers in the Indian dressing room. Dhoni is expected to appear in his nation’s colours in January 2019 in the ODI series against Australia.
