BEN STROKES MOST LIKELY TO LEAD THE TEAM AS A VICE CAPTAIN FOR THE UPCOMING BANGLADESH TOUR.

The newly appointed captain of the England cricket team Jos Butler for the ODI against Bangladesh has given some hint regarding the selection of Ben Strokes as the Vice-captain for the team.

“I think from the conversations I have had, Ben Stokes will probably be my vice captain,” Buttler said on Thursday (September 29). “He’s obviously a fantastic guy for the team. In the last 12 months, you’ve seen real leadership qualities develop in him, and he’s obviously a fantastic cricketer in all facets.

“He loves that responsibility and he’s someone I’d look to talk to and bounce ideas off. He’s got a great cricket brain and when he speaks you listen; he’s one of those guys,” Buttler added.

The last time this two teams met against each other was during the world cup 2015.

“It was a really tough day in Adelaide, very disappointing,” Buttler acknowledged. “But we got to rock bottom there and have come back, turned that corner. It’s going to be a great tour, they’ve been very successful at home in their recent past, so it’s a great challenge for us as a group to play in those conditions.”

“He’s obviously had a great year, last night he picked up both PCA awards and rightly so he’s being talked about,” Buttler said. “He’s a fantastic talent, someone I’m actually really looking forward to getting to knowing better and to seeing in training because that’s really when you start to see how good guys are.

“It’s very exciting, some of the performances he’s put in – that double-hundred for the Lions was fantastic, so it’s a great opportunity for him. He is a very exciting prospect for English cricket; which just shows in one-day cricket, there’s some great depth and great competition.”

The practice match will commence from 4th of October before they take on to play the ODI’s and the test match.
