15-Man Squad for Last Three Odis against the Windies Announced By BCCI

Both the Men in Blue and the Windies are currently fighting it out in a high-scoring thrilling five-match ODI series.

Cricket news: India are currently leading the five-match ODI series by 1-0

Both the teams have managed to score the 300-run mark twice in the two matches and somehow it has surprised the host nation as the Caribbean side had suddenly levelled up their game.

India’s bowling attack was not at all up to the mark as they have allowed the opposition to breach the 300-run mark twice. This has forced the management to bring back India’s main bowling weapons in the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah.

Previously Mohammed Shami was included in the team for the limited overs format but his stint was short-lived as he was dropped from the squad because of his expensive bowling.

However one might argue because he had bowled better than the other pacer Umesh Yadav. Even Kedhar Jadhav, who had proved his fitness in the Deodhar Trophy for India A was not included which left the rest of the squad unchanged.

Indian pace battery which comprised of Khaleel Ahmed, Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav failed to impress the selectors as the trio conceded enough runs to help the opposition score than 600 runs in two ODIs.

The inclusion of pace spearheads Bhuvneshwar and Bumrah would definitely strengthen the India lineup and the Windies would have to play their top game in order to corner the hosts.

Another interesting matter is to be seen if KL Rahul and Manish Pandey gets a chance to feature in the squad. With the second match being a tie, the series is alive and the Windies will have a chance to draw the series and they can with their improved performances from the Test series.

Skipper Jason Holder has still not been in his best while Shimron Hetmyer and Shai Hope have proved dramatically with the bat. However the Windies bowlers need to perform well to keep the pressure on the host nation.
