According to the former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes thinks it will not going to be a difficult task for the Manchester United side to win the Premier league this season.

In the next month, the Red Devils will face the Anderlecht in the quarter-finals of the Europa league and also believes the Ligue 1 giants Lyon is the only team who can stop Manchester United from winning that trophy.

Previously in the earlier stages, they knocked out Saint-Etienne and Rostov from the competition, and the former Manchester United man is confident and optimistic that his side can lift the silverware in this term.

He said: "It is a great chance for them,"

"They are obviously the biggest club left in the competition. They are favourites and rightly so.

"If they perform anything like [they can] they have got a great chance of winning. I think Lyon are maybe the obvious contenders to United. But, apart from that, I don't see too many problems for them in that competition."

If they manage to win the Europe league in this season then the Red Devils can secure their spot on the next season Champions league but Scholes believes that the Red devil's army will do enough to secure their spot on the top four of the EPL table.

He added: "The chances are good and I expect them to finish fourth,"

"They have been on a fantastic run, without making much progress in the league.

"You have to say, the quality in the Premier League is back to where it should be. There are probably five teams fighting for that top four.

"I think [United's season] has been alright. There is a big period now, this will define how good the season has been."
