3 Reasons Why the 2014 Test Result Can Get Repeated Again

The Test squad for the Indian team has recently been announced which consists of 18 players and the squad is announced for the first three Tests.

Cricket news: With recent conditions India might again lose to England

While most of the players are regular members, first choice wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha and pace bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be unavailable as they are injured which will be a huge blow for India.

Karun Nair has been slotted in place of Rohit Sharma which proves that the management is looking to see beyond Rohit for Tests to be played overseas as the batsman from Mumbai has disappointed while playing abroad.

India were looking menacing at the start of the tour, but have recently lost momentum by losing the ODI series and the squad is suddenly looking slim and there is a possibility of a repeat of 2014 series loss. Here are the 3 reasons that might lead to India’s defeat:

3. Root and Cook are back in form

Joe Root was totally out of form when the tour began as he failed to score runs in the T20I series and was even dropped in the final game. He also failed in the first ODI as Kuldeep got better of him every time.

But he showed his class in the next matches by scoring back-to-back centuries and even started picking up Kuldeep easily.

On the other hand Alastair Cook has also got runs under his belt, as he scored 180 against India A recently. With both these batsmen back in form and scoring valuable runs, it might cause trouble for the Indian bowlers.
