3 Reasons Why the 2014 Test Result Can Get Repeated Again

1. Injury to front line bowlers

Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the two frontline pacers, will not be available for the first Test. In fact Bhuvi will miss all the three matches while Bumrah might miss the second game as well.

Bumrah had taken 14 wickets in 3 Tests against South Africa which included a 5-wicket haul. Bhuvi was India’s main weapon as he can swing the ball in both ways.

Bhuvi was India’s highest wicket-taker in 2014, taking 42% of the wickets. Moreover he was the third highest run-scorer behind Vijay and Rahane, scoring 3 fifties. The unavailability of such talented players might cost India and a repeat of the 2014 series might seem inevitable.
