2019 IPL Might Not Be Played In India

The 2018 edition of the Indian Premier League had recently concluded with Chennai Super Kings winning their third title as they defeated the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Cricket news: Rajeev Shukla has given a major update regarding the 2019 edition of IPL

The 2018 edition was perhaps the most successful edition of the history of IPL as it proved to be the best for the organizers.

Moreover it was not only popular among the fans who were on the field but lived up to the hype and buzz even in the social media platform.

It will be needless to say that the IPL is very dear to all the cricketing fans of India. But it will be going to come as a heart-breaking news if the tournament is not organised within the country in the next year, courtesy to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

According to the reports in Khaleej Times, IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla has said that the IPL might get shifted outside the country if it clashes with the dates of the election as there will be no security for the tournament during the time of the elections.

“If it clashes with those dates (of the elections) then we will not get security. Then for that period we will have to move it out overseas,” IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla said.

Well if truly the IPL gets shifted outside the country, then Dubai will have to be the first choice of the organisers to host the mega event.

It is not now for the tournament to get shifted outside of the country due to the elections. In 2009, the entire tournament was played in South Africa. Five year after that in 2014, the first phase of the tournament was played in United Arab Emirates.
