Rohit Gurunath Sharma is one of the most recognizable name in the world of cricket because of his explosive batting in limited overs format as he is nicknamed as the ‘Hitman’ of Indian cricket.

He debuted for his country in 2007 and has garnered huge success over the course of time and has got quite a number of records to his name.

The right-handed batsman also occasionally plays as a right-arm off-break bowler and is also the vice-captain of the team in limited overs format.

He joined cricket coaching with his uncle’s money in 1999 and soon had to shift his school to Swami Vivekanand International School because of better facilities and because his coach Dinesh Lad used to teach there.

He is the only cricketer to score three double hundreds in ODI cricket and his score of 264 is the highest in ODI cricket history which he made against Sri Lanka on 13 November 2014 at the Eden Gardens.

He got engaged to his best friend and personal manager Ritika Sajdeh on April 2015 and the couple got married on 13 December 2015.

There was a recent change in the pay scale made by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), and as a result Rohit gets a salary of Rs. 7 crores a year as he is listed under Grade A+ contract.

Indian premier League franchise Mumbai Indians bought Rohit Sharma for 2 Million Dollars in the 2011 IPL auction. In the 2018 auction he was retained by the team for Rs. 15 crores (US$ 2.36 million).

He is the first captain in the history of IPL to win the trophy thrice. The other captain to achieve the same feat is MS Dhoni of franchise Chennai Super Kings.

Rohit Sharma had signed a deal worth Rs. 2 crore with the sports goods manufacturer company Adidas. His bat and jersey has the brand logo engraved on it.

Rohit also endorsed for the brand Aristrocrat which is based on the leading luggage manufacturer company VIP.

Rohit is also the brand ambassador of the Swiss watch company ‘Hublot’ and endorses their brands. From endorsements alone, Rohit earns a massive 7 crores annually.
