South Africa showed a tremendous performance in batting despite angry nature

South Africa made a total pile of runs in day two. Despite nature being angry on the ground, South Africa on their home-soil secured a total runs of 263 in the first innings. Delayed by rain and pressured by rivals, Africans emerged as rising sun. Hashim Amla to score the highest for the team of 53 runs with 10 boundaries under his name. 46 runs came from the bat of Temba Bavuma an keeper Quinton de Kock was sent back on 33. South Africa in the first innings lost all of their wickets.

New Zealand bowlers tried their best to de-score Africans and became successful to some extent hacking all of their wickets in a single day. Neil Wagner became successful thrice in sending rivals back to pavilion and Trent Boult too gained 3 wickets where as Mitchell Santner picked 2. Tim Southee and Doug Bracewell each took single man.

On the other end, New Zealand on their part scored 15 runs until the day came to an end. Losing two of their vital players like Tom Latham and Martin Guptill who went on 4 and 7 respectively, skipper Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor both on the crease for 2 runs each. Dale Steyn had all the wickets of the first day on 6 overs providing a meager runs of 3 comprising 4 maiden.
