After the Conclusion of the U 19 world cup, the Indian U 19 poster boy reveals how Yuvraj Singh guided him before this showpiece event at the NCA (National Cricket Academy) in Bengaluru.


In the U 19 world cup Indian Right Handed batsman Shubman Gill was in terrific form, in world cup he has struck 372 runs in his 5 Innings, with a staggering average of 124. In the Group matches he has scored 63, 90*, 86 in the first three matches, after that he just uplifted his game in the Knockout stages, where he has scored his maiden Century against the Arch rivals Pakistan in the Semi.


According to DNA Shubman stated: "Yuvi paaji (Yuvraj Singh) gave a lot of guidance when he was at the NCA. He told me things about on and off the field, he gave me tips and batted along with me,"


Question asked to the Talented right Handed batsman about his wonderful knock against Pakistan, he said it was the legendary Rahul Dravid who advised him to stay on the pitch till the end in that match.


He voiced: "There was pressure for the game against Pakistan. Our openers gave a good start and it was going well in the middle. We lost some wickets and Rahul (Dravid) sir advised me to bat till the end and the partnership with Anukul (Roy) was good,"


After his heroic performance in the U 19 world cup he has picked by KKR in the IPL auction, and about the IPL auction Shubman said: We were tired as we had finished the match against Bangladesh a day before (the auction). I woke up and got to know that I was picked by KKR. At that time I did not think about the IPL and the focus was on the World Cup."


In the U 19 world cup Indian put up an outstanding performance in all the matches, in the 6 matches Indian bowlers picked up 60 wickets and also batsman put up mammoth runs in front of their opponent, and each and every Indian U 19 player were so confident about their preparation they fell that he could have won it on any surface.


He added: "The preparation was good and we were prepared for the worst wickets. After we defeated Australia in the first match, we thought our chances were there (to win the title),"
