The 32 year old right handed batsman and Wicket keeper have scored a double century in the Irani cup against Gujrat.

The Bengal man scored a double ton in the Irani Cup against Gujrat and because of that the rest of India won to clinch their 15 th Irani trophy against the Gujrat who won Ranji trophy.’

And because of his wonderful knock, he has only re-established his position as the first pleasure wicket keeper for the Indian team.

Parthiv Patel is there in the race with him to the spot, he was also a part of Irani trophy, under his captaincy the Gujrat team has won the First Ranji trophy last week, but they lost their match in the Irani trophy against  the Rest of India.

After the Irani trophy, India head selector MSK Prasad and Sourav Ganguly  have voiced their opinion over them.

Both Sourav and MSK Prasad think that Wriddhiman Saha will go down as a first choice wicket keeper in the national squad.

Sourav Ganguly believes that the experience wicket keeper Parthiv Patel is good, but he has to wait when it is about test cricket.

The left handed wicket keeper has scored only 11 and 32 runs in Iranti trophy both the innings.

Sourav Ganguly said: “Parthiv is successful at the domestic level. At the Test level Wriddhiman is an automatic choice. Parthiv will have to wait,”

On the other hand the right handed wicket keeper has scored a duck in the first innings, but he has played brilliantly in the second innings and he scored 203 in 277 balls, the head selector thinks that any player coming out of injury must prove his fitness level at the domestic level before he plays for the national team.

Prasad said:  “We had made it clear that someone who is coming back from injury, had to play in a domestic game and this was the best opportunity. Right now Saha and Parthiv are the best No. 1 and 2 that we have. It was only to test fitness that we had Saha play here,”
