MS Dhoni Is All Set To Create Another Record

The much-awaited and talked out ODI series between India and England is all set to begin from Thursday and the first match will be played at the Trent Bridge.

Cricket news: With this achievement, Dhoni will join the Indian legends in an elite club

All the fans of the entire cricketing fraternity are eagerly waiting for this series to commence and are expecting this series to be a high-scoring one because of the depth in the batting of the two teams, and are also hoping that many records will break during this three-match series.

Among all this hustle, the former Indian captain MS Dhoni is silently doing his job and has become almost certain of joining an elite club which features the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid.

Dhoni is currently just 33 runs away from becoming the 12th batsman in the world and the fourth Indian batsman to cross the 10000-run mark in ODI format.

The veteran cricketer has played 318 matches and has scored 9967 runs with an unbelievable average of 51.37 which includes 67 half-centuries and 10 centuries.

Tendulkar tops the list with 18426 runs. While among the Indians, Tendulkar is followed by Ganguly with 11363 runs and is followed by Dravid, who had missed the 11000-run mark, as he retired after scoring 10889 runs.

While Dhoni will surely reach the feat in this series, and can even reach the target in the first match if he is given enough opportunity with the bat at the crease.

Dhoni is also on the verge of becoming the fourth wicketkeeper in the world to complete 300 catches in ODIs, as he is just 3 catches short.

The list is led by Adam Gilchrist (417), who is followed by Mark Boucher (402) and Kumar Sangakkara (383) is in the third place.

Dhoni is himself a record-holder as he is only wicketkeeper to have effected more than 100 stumping dismissal, 107 is the exact figure. Sangakkara is second on the list.

It is only a matter of time when MS Dhoni claims these two records which will give his fans more opportunities to gush over his illustrious career.
