After back to back defeats in two matches, KKR team led by Dinesh Karthik will look to turn things around against Delhi.Kolkata began their campaign with a win against Bangalore, but they soon lost their way after their double defeats in the hands of Chennai and Hyderabad.

KKR lock horns with DD, led by former KKR skipper Gambhir

On the other hand, Delhi had a shaky start, going down against Punjab and Rajasthan. But the team bounced back against Mumbai thanks to Jason Roy’s debut unbeaten 91.

The match will see the national team speedster, Mohammed Shami, return to his home town for the first time after his wife had accused him of infidelity and domestic abuse.

The latest development in the case is that Hasin Jahan, Shami’s wife, has filed the case in Alipore Court on April 10 and the court has summoned Shami within 15 days.

Gautam Gambhir, who was associated with KKR since 2011 and has won two titles with the franchise, has better knowledge of the conditions and is keen to take advantage from them.

Gambhir feels relieved at the moment as his side’s batting combination has finally clicked and his pace combination of Trent Boult and Shami is in good form.

On the other hand, KKR would have to find their right gear as their plan to play Sunil Narine down the order backfired in the previous game.

Narine might be back in the opening slot and the franchise needs to back the Under-19 World Cup winning duo of Shubman Gill and Shivam Mavi.

KKR’s veteran, Robin Uthappa, should shoulder more responsibility as his scores of 13, 29 and 3 have been a big letdown.

Also before the biggest test of his career, Karthik should also back his skills and make an impact, before questions start pouring in regarding his captaincy.
