IT IS THE TEAM EFFORT THAT TOOK US TO THE PLAYOFFS: MUMBAI INDIANS

SPORTSLIBRO CRICKET- LATEST CRICKET NEWS

As we all know Mumbai Indianms became the only team till date to qualify for the playoffs and the team management congratulated the members for letting things happen so quick

The young guns are firing at the moment for the Mumbai Indians and almost all the combinations they have put forward has worked for the benefit of the team and the owners as well

And with this record margin win in the IPL Mumbai Indians became the first team of 2K17 to qualify for the playoffs with 18 points on the radar, the team has played exceptionally and the rewards are being put forward to them in slow succession which at times are very sweet

Simmons with his wonderful 66 runs knock led the etam to get a memorable victory which went on to become a record margin win for the team, what more can we expect from a team with so much of effort put in by the team , going in vain won’t repent the same

The swashbuckling batsman also pointed out that he gauged the conditions quickly before opening up his shoulders to play a wide array of shots. "I knew they have good fast bowlers, they have Zak [Zaheer Khan] who is very experienced, who will open the bowling. It was just a matter of time, of just picking the right balls ... [I had to] asses the wicket at first and then played my game, which is to tee off in the first six overs."

Pollard, Simmons's teammate, was promoted to No. 3 in the batting order. The sturdy all-rounder reposed the faith showed by the think-tank and crunched an unbeaten 35-ball 63. "It's a good feeling, felt like a Test batsman there to come out at No 3. [I was] speaking to Hardik [Pandya] & [he was] very much surprised," he noted.

Pollard also observed that he looked to assess the conditions and bat deep into the innings. "My game plan after that was just to try and bat deep. Rohit [Sharma] came in and [the plan was] not [to] lose another wicket in that over and then try to keep the momentum going. So at the end of the day thank you very much for taking the shine off the ball for me and making it a lot easier so that I can come and clear the ropes."

Simmons commended Pollard for his fine effort and added that a top-order batsman has the opportunity to get himself settled at the crease before looking to play the big shots. "I must say from a batsman's point of view that when you get the opportunity to bat early and when you get some balls for setting yourself you show what could happen. So hopefully when you again get an opportunity to bat up the order you know what to do - which is to give yourself a start and to blossom," he said.
